James started his journey with Social Bean eight months ago after graduating from university and struggling to access employment due to mental health issues. Entering employment for the first time can be a daunting and overwhelming experience, and James found that suffering from anxiety made the process even more challenging and disabling for him. Thanks to the Social Bean active inclusion programme, James received the one-to-one support he needed to build on his confidence and overcome the barriers to employment caused by his mental health, to become a valued member of the Social Bean team.
He has utilised his individual skills to undertake a varied role during his six-month placement, from customer service to content creation for our website. James has grown in self-confidence and has mastered key skills essential for a workplace environment. He continues to support Social Bean as a volunteer, getting hands on with grinding our unique blend of coffee to supporting our overall customer experience.
